Availability

These pages describe GitMaster as it is at launch. This page shows which parts work in the app today, and which are still being built. A page marked Planned or Partly available says so at the top, and each missing part carries a Planned note.

Overview

PageStatusNot available yet
GitMasterPartly available
  • Agents under human accountability: Tools that propose and apply a change through the MCP server, and workflow runs that an agent starts, are not available in the app yet.
  • Windows: Windows is not supported yet.

Getting started

PageStatusNot available yet
InstallationPartly available
  • Requirements: Moving a file to a branch or a worktree needs Git 2.38 or newer. With an older Git, those actions are disabled and the rest of the app works as usual.
  • Windows: GitMaster does not run on Windows yet, so there is no Windows build or installer.
First stepsPartly available
  • Choose a theme: A theme setting in the app's interface is not available yet. The environment variable is the only way to choose the theme.

Concepts

PageStatusNot available yet
PrinciplesPartly available
Trust and safetyPartly available
  • Agent actor: Tools that propose and apply a change to the repository. Your agent asks you before each apply call, and apply accepts only a plan, never free-form arguments, so what you approve is exactly what runs. The agent enforces this approval, not GitMaster, so it holds only as long as the agent's own permission settings do. See Approval.
  • Text in agent requests: Agent requests that use repository text are not available in the app yet.
  • Approvals for workflows: The approval rules for runs started by an agent are not available in the app yet.

  • Operation log: The operation log is not available in the app yet.

Working CopyPartly available
  • Large repositories: The behavior for very large repositories described here is not available in the app yet.
  • Move a file to a branch or a worktree: The hint is shown in the status bar while the file is dragged, not beside the row yet. The popover opens beside the sidebar, not on its row yet. In the By stack view the Branches header is not a drop target yet.
  • Reviewed marker: Marking a file as reviewed is not available in the app yet.

Diff and stagingPartly available
  • Ignoring whitespace: Ignoring whitespace in the view is not available in the app yet.
  • Word-level highlighting: Highlighting the changed words inside a line is not available in the app yet.
  • Moved code: Detecting moved code in the diff is not available in the app yet.

Resolving conflictsPartly available
  • Layout: The resolver does not count the changes Git applied on its own, and it has no unified or stacked layout for small windows yet.
ThreadsPartly available
  • Changes that are not edits: A list of the changes that happened during a turn, including those made by shell commands, is not available in the app yet.
  • Search threads: Filters for the agent, the branch and the dates are not available in the app yet.
  • Threads for a file or a commit: The section does not yet mark the threads that were created during the thread, and it does not say how many threads follow the first ten.
4 more
  • After a rewrite: The thread's Commits panel does not show the gone and ambiguous states yet. The Labels page shows them on a commit attached to a label.
  • Labels: The app cannot yet attach a file, a commit or another label to a label; an agent can, through MCP, and the Labels page shows and removes those attachments.
  • Pause or stop capturing: Pause Capture in This Repository, which stops capturing in one repository only, is not available in the app yet.
  • Summary: A thread summary is not available yet.
MemoriesPlanned
  • Memories are not available in the app yet.
ContextsPlanned
  • Contexts are not available in the app yet.
TerminalsPlanned
  • Terminals are not available in the app yet.

Workflows

PageStatusNot available yet
Workflows overviewPartly available
  • Running a workflow: Runs started by an agent are not available in the app yet. An agent connected through MCP will be able to list workflows and run them, and the apply actions of such a run will always wait for your approval. See AI agents.
  • Runs: Runs started by an agent are not available yet.
Writing workflowsPartly available
  • Problems: The problems are not underlined in the text yet.
Triggers and phasesAvailable—
Approvals and securityPartly available
Writing workflows with an AI agentPartly available
  • Limits for agents: An agent cannot start a run through the MCP workflow_run tool yet. Every applying action of an agent's run will wait for you. See MCP tools.

AI agents

PageStatusNot available yet
Agent integrationPartly available
  • Skills and sub-agents: The skills and sub-agents below are not part of the plugin yet.
  • Import sessions you already have: Importing the agent's existing session files as threads, with an Import Existing Sessions action, is not available in the app yet. Until then, a session is captured when its hooks run after the plugin is installed.
MCP serverPartly available
  • The tools that propose or apply a change to the repository, and the agent policy, are not available yet.
  • What the server may do: Tools that propose a change, such as a restack plan, and that apply it. See Approval.
  • Approval: The tools that apply a change are not available yet. The rest of this section is how they will work.
Local reviewPartly available
  • The agent's summary of a handled comment is not shown in the app yet. The agent receives it, and the handled comment shows its status and its Before and After text.
  • Comment on code: Comments already written are drawn inline in the Code viewer and in commit and stash diffs; today they show in the Working Copy diff and on the Local review page.
  • Before and after: Changes that overlap no comment appear as "other changes".
Reviewers and gatesPlanned
  • Reviewers, verdicts and gates are not available in the app yet.
